Head Injury Caused by Slip on Wet Floor

25th July 2012

A woman injured in a fall at work received compensation for a head injury, in a recent personal injury claim dealt with by our specialist solicitors.

Lack of Safety

Our client worked for a well known chemist and was on her way into the store to begin her shift. A cleaner had been mopping the floors, but did not leave a sign out in the area our client was crossing, even though the floor was still wet.

She slipped on the wet surface, fell and hit her head on a nearby shelf with force. She spent 3 nights in hospital with concussion and had to take some time off work to recover.

Personal Injury Claim

The injured employee approached our expert personal injury lawyers for help with a compensation claim, as her accident could have been prevented if appropriate safety procedures were followed at her workplace.

We began a claim against her employer and they admitted liability, so we negotiated with them in respect of compensation for our client and secured £2,500 on her behalf. The cleaner was also given health and safety training to prevent similar accidents from happening in the future.
