Increased Compensation Obtained for Road Accident Victim

31st August 2010

In a recent road accident case, our expert personal injury lawyers secured a compensation settlement for a bus driver, which was over twice the amount offered by the defendant’s insurance company.

Injured Bus Driver

Our client was driving his bus when the vehicle in front of him made a sudden right turn, without warning, into the path of oncoming traffic. One of the oncoming drivers had to take evasive action to avoid it, however in doing so collided with our client’s bus.

As a result of this bus accident our client suffered a personal injury. He sustained whiplash injuries to his neck and shoulders and also suffered travel anxiety. It was necessary for him to take some time off from work and it took around 4 months for the worst of his symptoms to subside.

Injury Compensation Claim

The injured bus driver sought help from our lawyers in pursuing a personal injury claim against the driver who caused the accident. Their insurance company admitted liability and made offers of compensation, the highest of which was less than £3,700.

We pursued the matter to court as we felt this sum was inadequate given the level of harm suffered by our client. We put forward medical evidence to show that a full recovery could take up to two and a half years and the Judge awarded over £7,500 in damages.

This case highlights the benefits of using an experienced, independent law firm.
