Slip in Car Park Caused by Failure to Grit

When an employee suffered a personal injury due to a fall in the car park of the school where she works, our expert personal injury lawyers were able to recover compensation on her behalf.

The claimant was walking between her own car and the car next to it in the school car park, when she slipped on some untreated ice and snow. There had been severe weather conditions over the previous few days and, although grit had been laid in some parts of the car park, the areas between the cars were left untreated.

She fell and suffered injuries to her back and arms as a result of this accident at work.

The Judge therefore concluded that the claimant’s employer had not taken sufficient steps to remove the hazard and found in favour of the injured party.
