Head Injury Compensation for Victim of Accident at Work

19th July 2010

A man who suffered head injuries as the result of an accident at work received compensation recently, in a claim our expert personal injury lawyers pursued on his behalf.

Injured at Work by Falling Load

Our client was injured at work when a load fell from an overhead crane and he was struck on the head and face by the leg of a furnace pot.

He was knocked unconscious, sustained a nasty wound to his forehead and a major blood vessel in his temple was damaged. Our client developed post-concussion syndrome, suffered neuropsychological trauma and was left with a facial scar and a small risk of developing epilepsy in the future. He required hospital treatment and cognitive behavioural therapy to assist his recovery.

Personal Injury Claim Against Employer

Our lawyers have extensive experience in workplace accident claims and the injured employee appointed us to deal with a personal injury claim against his employer.

Their insurers initially refused to negotiate an appropriate settlement of damages, so it was necessary for us to begin court proceedings. We were able to reach an agreement before the case went to trial however and recovered £30,000 compensation for our client.
