Supermarket Employee Receives Compensation for Slip at Work

11th December 2008

An employee of a major supermarket suffered personal injuries in a slip at work and recovered compensation with help from our specialist personal injury lawyers.

Accident at Work

At the time of his accident our client, a store manager, was attending a meeting at another store to complete some paperwork following some time off after an operation, when he suffered a slipping accident due to a number of squashed grapes that were on the floor near the produce department.

He fell, injuring both knees, his shoulder, lower back and groin. As a result of his absence from work he suffered the loss of certain benefits, such as bonuses and share plans.

Because of his injuries, the claimant also had to give up golf and a pre existing condition was exacerbated to the point where he required an operation that would otherwise not have been necessary for some time.

Personal Injury Claim

Our lawyers are experts in all areas of personal injury, including accidents at work and accidents in public places such as supermarket accidents. They were appointed by the claimant to pursue a compensation claim on his behalf.

To begin with the company refused to admit liability for his injuries, so court proceedings had to be commenced. A suitable agreement was then reached and our client was awarded £35,000 in damages.
