A firefighter who suffered a personal injury during the course of his work appointed our solicitors to assist him in making a compensation claim, and was awarded damages.
The incident occurred when the claimant was attending a call to a burning lorry on the M6 motorway. At the time the cause of the fire was not known, however when it was later investigated by the fire service it was recorded as a supposed electrical fault.
As he was investigating the scene, the fire caused one of the lorry’s tyres to explode and this led to the client’s injury, which gave rise to symptoms lasting several months.
Our specialist personal injury lawyers made a compensation claim against the owners of the vehicle, as it was considered to be work equipment and it had failed, causing the fire and subsequently the claimant’s accident.
The Judge found in favour of the claimant based on the evidence provided.
