Back Injury at Work Caused by Pallet in Aisle

20th February 2009

A print worker recently made a successful compensation claim against his employer in respect of his accident at work, with assistance from our expert personal injury solicitors.

Trip at Work

Our client was working at a print machine, when a colleague delivered a pallet of paper for use by another operator at a different machine. He left the pallet protruding into the aisle between the two machines, even though our client told him that this would present a tripping hazard. Normally, the pallets would be placed level with the machine they were intended for and would not be sticking out into the walkway.

A short while later, there was a paper jam in the claimant’s machine and he had to walk around it to rectify the problem. At this point he tripped over the corner of the protruding pallet and fell, suffering a back injury.

As a result of this tripping accident, he took advice from his GP and required time off from work.

Personal Injury Claim

Our lawyers are experts in recovering personal injury compensation for the victims of workplace accidents and pursued a personal injury claim on the injured worker’s behalf.

The matter proceeded to Court and the claimant was awarded compensation in respect of his injury after the Judge found in his favour.
