Child Seriously Injured in Road Accident Receives Compensation

A young girl suffered serious injuries when she was involved in a road accident as a pedestrian. Our specialist solicitors acted on her behalf in a personal injury claim and she received compensation.
Vehicle Mounted Pavement
Our client was walking along the pavement with her family, when a driver failed to keep control of their vehicle, left the road and mounted the pavement. The vehicle collided with our client and she was crushed.
As a result of this horrific accident our client sustained numerous injuries, including multiple pelvic fractures, a spinal fracture and a collapsed lung. Treatment of these injuries involved several operations and she had to use a wheelchair during the early part of her lengthy recovery.
She was left with considerable scarring and the potential that her injuries could cause problems in the future.
Personal Injury Claim
We were appointed by the family of the injured child to pursue a compensation claim against the driver, as the accident occurred because they failed to drive in a safe manner. We began a claim against them and they admitted responsibility.
It was then necessary for us to obtain medical reports in respect of our client’s injuries and we submitted this information to the other side. We rejected their first offer of compensation and continued negotiations, eventually securing a significantly increased offer. This was accepted and our client received substantial damages.
